Guest Services
Guest Services event staff is primarily used for customer service during events held at the Pan American Center and Aggie Memorial Stadium. Duties of Guest Services staff are further broken down into client services, lot attendant, ticket taker and usher. Even though all positions have their individual duties, the primary duty of guest services is to provide guests with the best customer service possible in order to maintain a safe environment and ensure everyone enjoys the event.
Booking & Marketing
Booking & Marketing is the Department that works to bring special events to the Pan American Center, either by dealing with outside promoters to schedule events here or by purchasing events directly. During the process of booking an event, the Department works with agents and promoters to develop a pricing structure for the show, to put together a media plan to market the show, and to develop estimated costs to stage the show in the Pan American Center. Once events are booked, the Department issues press releases, develops and implements media and marketing plans, and acts as the liaison between band or event publicists and area media.
Operations
Operations event staff is responsible for the set-up and tear down of events, among other building preparations. Duties include the set up and tear down of tables, chairs, bike rack, pipe and drape, dressing rooms, stage, lights, sound and video equipment, as well as the Aggie basketball court. During the event, there are stage hands that handle set changes between acts as well as tech positions that assist with sound and lights, including the “house” lights and spotlights. Certified fork lift drivers are also used for the loading and unloading of stage equipment, court, chairs, parking barriers, etc.
Custodial
Custodians are responsible for the cleanliness of all of our facilities at all times on a daily basis and during events. Custodial is responsible for the daily upkeep of several venues, team spaces, offices and meeting rooms. During events, custodians are assigned to a zone and are responsible for making sure that it is kept clean throughout the event. After the event, they clean the venue again after the general public has exited and begin preparing it for the next one.
