ACTS Scholarship Opportunities

The Dave Douds

  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
  • Must be planning a career in performing arts,  special events, or facility management.
  • Must demonstrate financial need as determined by official FAFSA results.
  • Preference will be given to students interested in country music entertainment.

The Bob Hope

  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
  • Must be a full-time student and have earned at least 30 credit hours.
  • Must be able to prove military status.
  • Must have been discharged under honorable conditions and served for at least 181 days.

The Jeff Dunham Endowed Scholarship

  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
  • Must be a full-time student.
  • Preference will be given to a student majoring in Theatre Arts.

The Richard H. Gilmore

  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
  • Must be classified as a junior level student.
  • Must be planning to pursue a career in special event/arena management associated with the entertainment industry.

The Peirce and Barbara Hubbard Endowed Scholarship Fund

  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Preference will be given to students with a major in the College of Business, the College of Education, the School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management, or performing arts.

Hubbard International Entertainment Buyers Association Endowed Scholarship

  • Must be enrolled in an entertainment business or performance program.
  • Established after Barbara Hubbard received the IEBA Founder award in 1998.

Hispanic Endowed Scholarship for the Performing Arts in Memory of Steve Gutierrez and Maggie Gamboa

  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
  • Must be a Hispanic student studying performing arts, including theatre arts, music, and dance.
  • Must be a student who demonstrates financial need as determined by official FAFSA results.

Charles Day Pharmacy School Scholarship

  • Awarded to students interested in a career in pharmacy.
  • Established in honor of Pharmacist Charles Day, a large supporter of Aggie Athletics and New Mexico State University.

Jan Scarborough Memorial Endowed Scholarship in Music

  • Must be a full-time student.
  • Must have declared a music major.
  • Established in honor of Jan Scarborough, a Las Cruces native famous for her musical “Rock Wedding” and leadership in the first ACTS Competition.

The Stevie Wonder, Ronnie Milsap, Jose Feliciano

  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
  • Must be a full-time student.
  • Must have a certifiable disability (preference will be given to students with a certifiable visual disability).

  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
  • Must have declared a music major.
  • Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need as determined by official FAFSA results.

The Brooks & Dunn

  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
  • Preference to students participating in NMSU’s Rodeo Club.
  • Established in honor of Brooks & Dunn after their sold-out concert in May 2010.

The Bill & Sharon Sheriff

  • Must have declared a business major.
  • Established in honor of Bill & Sharon Sheriff, Las Cruces natives and high school sweethearts who have been extremely supportive of ACTS programs.
Reba McEntireThe Reba McEntire
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
  • Must be classified as a junior level, full-time student.
  • Must have declared a music major.
  • Must be planning to pursue a career in the music industry.
